It runs very well with a strong engine and transmission. This car is a German market car, with more power and better lights. (The euro models had 310 hp vs. 288 for the US-spec cars.) The speedometer and odometer have been changed over to miles, but the other dash lights (idiot lights) are in german. It has new tires, new brakes, timing belt (last year) and a two year old battery. All the interior controls work with a few exeptions. The odometer stopped about 3 years ago, at 94,732 miles. Based on my annual use, I expect it has about 125,000 miles now. (This is a common problem with 928s, as the odometer wheel often loosens from its spindle. It requires the removal of the dash pod and disassembly of the speedometer to fix. This wasn't worth the trouble from my standpoint.) Also, the AC doesn't work. A mechanic told me that it "may" just need a recharge, but I didn't bother with this, either. Finally, the inside temperature sensor for the heat/AC needs to be replaced. It still blows hot air, or cool (outside) air, but won't adjust automatically to maintain the set temp. I can explain this more, if needed. Everything else works - the 8-way power seats (driver and passenger), power locks, power windows, sunroof, gauges (even the fuel economy gauge), radio, etc. It has a Blaupunkt single CD player installed, with the original speakers. The dash has cracks in it, and the driver's seat shows some wear, but not excessive. The other seats are in great shape. The exterior is in good shape. It is Garnet Red Metallic, and I think it still has the original paint job. There are some dings and scratches, and the clear coat is peeling in places. It really needs a new paint job. It also was dented in the parking lot at work. There's a dent (that's been pushed back out) in the rear quarter panel behind the driver's rear wheel. This would be easily smoothed before painting. All other panels are straight and intact, with no rust. All the lights work, including the european (really bright) driving lights, and the rear fog light. This is a really fast car that I have enjoyed owning. I hate to see it go, but my wife hates driving it (too low to the ground) and we need the room in the garage. I will gladly answer any questions, and would be happy to show it, if anyone is in the area. I'm in SW Wisconsin, near LaCrosse. I would be able to deliver it within about 2-3 hours of my house, or I can pick you up at either the Madison, WI airport, or the LaCrosse, WI airport.
