02/25/2003 update:

Car checked out really well with Autobahn Motors (Fort Worth Porsche Dealer). I had the timing belt replaced, new water pump and Oil Pressure sensor. A new front under engine panel was fitted. Oil Change with Mobil 1 and filter.
Car runs superb!
New wiper blades - washer nozzles - key heads - two H-3 55 W bulb replaced.
Only the Alpine CD changer did not work - currently being repaired
Everything works and a pleasure to drive.
You may want to add to the registry that the car is automatic (currently? on the site).
Attached are a new set of photos to replace the Schmitt ones.
Current mileage 72433.
Best regards,
Roger

Was for sale at McKenna Porsche the summer of 2002 for $35k.

Roger posted on Rennlist 01/18/2003:

Bill,  Thanks for your advice on talking to McKenna. I tracked down Bob Zand who bought the car back last summer. He said it had a replaced rear quarter panel and was fully checked out by his shop prior to putting it on his lot. Mechanically it was very good and only needed about $1500 (Porsche prices) of work when it came in. He was sure it was not a stolen/recovered vehicle. He said that his company does other checks besides CarFax. I asked him if he would recommend that I buy the vehicle and he said yes.  He sold it at auction last week after having it on his lot for 4/5 months.  It was priced at $35K. Any interested buyers had difficulty in raising finance due to the age.  He put it through the auction to move it on.  Schmitt only had it for a couple of days at the most when you take into account travel time from the West Coast.  I guess Zand could be a crook also - but why would he tell me to buy the vehicle??  I am sure you are right and I will find problems - however as this is my first 928 stick with me I will need all of your expert advice.
