Vehicle Description This is an exceptional GTS even among GTS’s. The vehicle is in outstanding aesthetic and mechanical condition as evidenced by both her exceptional looks and detailed service history. That being said, she comes with several dealer and factory installed options which really make her stand out. I’ll sort out the details for you one at a time… EXTERIOR – Grand Prix White. The paint is easily a 9.8-9.9 out of 10. With the exception of a few very, very minor stone chips, the paint is perfect. The stock Cup wheels are factory painted to match the car with matching center caps. Last week I had the car hand waxed and polished. No accident history. INTERIOR – It doesn’t get any nicer. The seats are linen with blue piping and are in great shape with very minimal wear. The carpets are linen with navy floor mats. No rips, tears or cracks. The pictures speak for themselves. The navy Porsche floor mats are old and from another 928 - I only have them in there b/c when we took the pictures, we were doing some hiking in a national park. The linen-blue two tone has to be seen to be appreciated. MECHANICAL – Everything has been done and is up to date. A partial list includes: - New Michelin Pilots - Suspension: DEVEK supplied shocks, anti-sway bar and drop links - Brakes: all new cryogenic rotors and z rated pads - Cooling: new DEVEK all Aluminum rad., hoses & thermostat - Timing belt & water pump - All regular maintenance: fluids, sensors, etc - Tire pressure monitors - Full A.C. service - ice cold, front & rear - Sport Mode Switch – this is the best option of all. If you look in the ashtray you will see a switch which, when engaged, upgrades your shifting to sport mode. With the switch on, the transmission thinks that the passing gear switch is already depressed. The result is that when you are at speed, say on the highway, you only need to slightly depress the accelerator for full passing power. I have been told that there are only 2 or 3 other GTS’s with this option. Vehicle Condition She runs and drives perfectly. I have over $36,000 in service receipts since 1996. The car has been indulged without any financial reservations whatsoever. The last thing in the 928 world that you want to do is to buy one without a proper service history. These cars are relatively affordable and unfortunately many people who can afford to purchase them cannot afford to maintain them. They are not necessarily expensive to maintain, but if you fall behind on the maintenance, the can be very expensive to repair. They were $90K new, and need to be treated with the proper respect. Non-essential transportation should not be purchased for someone that you don't both like and trust. I am really not in a hurry to sell and it is important to me, however irrational it may sound, that the car go to a good home. I have owned several Porsches and currently own two 928’s. I love the cars having recently discovered them only last year. I am looking for a manual, high mileage GTS to send to DEVEK for a 6.5 liter engine conversion . With shipping, ordering , lead times and shop time, they have told me that this is about a six month process. Owning (3) 928’s is just not practical, so sometime before spring I’ll need to make some room in the garage. I reserve the right to end the auction early for whatever reason.
