Interior is Magenta. Okay, both fancy terms for purple! According to the 928 registry, there seem to be only 4 in N.America with this colour. I purchased this car 3 years ago and have put 14000km since then. This has been my second 928 and I take care of my cars with painstaking detail. This vehicle has only ever been summer driven and has never seen snow. There is no rust anywhere. The undercarriage is clean and has was undercoated 3 years ago with the oily resin type undercoating as opposed to the black, tar-like coating. Though these cars shouldn't be driven in the snow, the front seats are heated as are the side mirrors. The front seats are 8-way power adjustable. The toolkit is complete. The spare is intact and has never been used. The air compressor is also intact in its case and doesn't appear to have ever been used either. This is a Canadian car with metric instrumentation. If you're a US buyer, imperial markings are on the speedo and the computer dashboard readouts can me converted to imperial measurements by following the instructions in the owner's manual. Body & Glass The paint is in very good condition though there are flecks on the front from road debris. The glass is all in excellent condition. There is one extremely minor dimple in each door from other careless drivers who parked too close to me. You have to angle the light to see these so they ae not that severe but every sports car owner notices the most minor imperfections in their car. The rockers also have road debris scars. I had 3M clear protection put immediately behind the front wheels and immediately ahead of the rear wheels where the body bulges and typically takes the brunt of what's tossed back from the front wheels. Interior The interior is leather including a leather wrap steering wheel.The only wear marks on are the driver bolster (see picture). The climate control sensor was tampered with by the previous owner and she managed to break off some of it (see picture). There are no rips, tears, or stains. The rear cargo cover is present but the cargo net wasn't with the car when I purchased it. The rear glove box key didn't come with the car when I bought it so it can't be opened. I have one primary key and one valet key. Wheels 17" Strosek Monoblocs with Yokohama AVS ES100 225/45 on the front and 255/40 on the rear. The tires have less than 8000km on them. I also have the original 16" Design 90 rims with BF Goodrich T/As (with about 40% treadlife left) and these will be included with the winning bid. OZ Italy manufactured a limited run of 1000 Monobloc wheels for Strosek so, if you are the winning bidder, don't slide these into a curb as they are rare! I had the wheels trued and they have either no balancing weights or a minimal weight on them. Because this car has the RDK tire pressure sensor, removing the original wheels causes the sensor light to remain lit on the dash. Apparently, this can be bypassed with some jumper in the fuse box but I haven't bothered. Service History I have numerous service records back to the time of original sale in April, 1991 to 1994 with more records resuming in 1997. These were provided by the previous owner. This vehicle was originally leased, as I was told by the previous owner. Given the reasonably well documented service history that I have, this car was well looked after beforer I purchased it (and after too!) Here is a list of significant servicing completed: Battery, May 2005 Brakes incl. rotors at 101,500km (May, 2005) Four wheel alignment at 100,200km (Sep, 2004) Leaky power steering hose at 100,200km (Sep, 2004) Replaced transmission and rebuilt torque converter at 89,000km (Jun, 2002). Apprently, the transmission oil pump snapped an inner bolt and things went from bad to worse in just a few seconds. A used transmission was put in after the rebuild of the original transmission still had vibration problems. Timing belt at 75,000km (Oct, 2000). Oil cooler (Apr 1999) Electrical Unlike my first 928, everything electrical works on this car. The only issue is that the rear defrost doesn't seem to shut off with the engine and it drained my battery a few years back. Known Issues Since the transmission replacement, there is a hydraulic hum when the transmission is enaged in park or neutral but not when it's in the drive gears. The stitching on the leather steering wheel has also come off in some places. Other than this, there is nothing else wrong and the car needs no work whatsoever.
