08/31/2007 update:
Thrust Bearing Failure has been discovered so I am sourcing a replacement
engine or block. Jager wood and metal accents have been installed on the
dash face, shift bezel, and door panels for an updated look. Aero mirrors
have also been installed. Refurbished door panels with new factory
matched vinyl was installed along with new door speakers behind the
original factory grills.
More Information:
Vehicle originated in Ontario, Canada I believe. Car was titled to a
Shirley Scullion of Gloucester Ontario at some point (found her insurance
card dated 04/11/98). Mileage and speeds are expressed in kilometers -
neat. Perhaps someone else purchased the car from her because I found the
care at a Lexus dealership (late 2004) in Sarsotta, FL. It was being
auctioned on eBay through the used car department at this dealership.
Therefore, I believe I am the third owner, but uncertain. Aside from a
few small blemishes visable only up close the exterior is clean, shiny,
beautiful in this color. I recently added new 17" Porsche Cup wheels w/
Porsche centercaps as the previous owner's tire setup was too wide -
causing inner-fender scraping. The only aftermarket additions are a
tastefully designed JVC CD player that looks appropriately ergonomic
alongside the AC unit, unworthy speakers, and an aftermarket alarm w/ door
unlock feature. These were installed by the previous owner. I recently
spent $11,000 bringing this car back to good mechanical standards. After
2 years in the shop, I finally put my first mile on her yesterday.
Bittersweet since she has an oil pressure problem, but washing/waxing and
driving her was sweet paradise. This has been my dream car since age 17.
I am now 36. I intend to add a color-matched GTS spoiler and GTS Aero
mirrors in the near future. Dash is perfect; however, some leather
loosening has occured on the doors and the carpets will likely be replaced
soon as they show their age. All power options work w/o fail. I am in
928 bliss at the moment (..angels singing). |
