Exterior :

This 928's exterior is in excellent condition. The car has never been in an accident, but over the years, stone chips and scuffs had accumulated on the front bumper, so I had it repainted. I know, I know, but I am OC when it comes to my Porsches, and the imperfections were costing me sleep. (I'm the guy that parks a mile away from the store so no one will park next to me.) The rest of the paint is all original and in top condition. All panels have excellent luster, no oxidation, and of course no rust. The pictures don't do it justice. The Samtrot metallic itself is very attractive, seeming to shift from burgundy to maroon to deep red depending on the light. Tasteful, yet subtle enough not to flush out all the boys in blue like my bright Arrest Me Red Carrera does.

Interior :

The interior is also in excellent condition. The carpet is perfect with no visible wear. Likewise the seat leather is still loose and buttery soft. Leather seats usually draw over time, but these seats still have the loose folds in them! The color is beginning to wear off the inside bottom of the driver's side bolster, but other than that, it is beyond excellent. 928 dash boards are prone to crack badly. This car has two cracks, a quarter inch long each, between the vent outlets. Even the expected wear on the steering wheel rim and shift knob are absent. Please understand I am nit-picking to be as honest as possible. Many people don't even list such minor problems. The interior and exterior are easily 9 out of 10.

Driving :

If you have been looking for the ultimate in GT refinement, then your searching has paid off. With only 48,800 original miles (I have shoes with higher mileage) and a manual tranny, this car is a rare find. On the interstate, the S4 hunkers down and tracts perfectly straight - the V8 torque dusting off traffic with only a quiet burble. On the back roads the 928 tackles the curves with composure and stability. It cruises at extremely hyper-legal speeds crypt silent and bank vault solid - and does everything in complete comfort and luxury. This precise 5-spd is so much fun to use that I can't believe most S-4's have the slush box! Since the belts, water pump, steering rack, clutch, etc, etc, have been replaced, all the car really needs right now is someone to enjoy it. Unfortunately my finances will not allow me to be thatperson.

Mechanical :

The engine is quiet and revs silky smooth. The brakes are strong and solid. Having just been replaced, the steering rack is tight and sharp. The torque tube bearings are silent regardless of whether in gear or not. The fuel pump is also quiet. The car leaks no fluids. The clutch has less than 3000 miles on it so it of course has proper take up length and no chatter. I have owned a string of Porsche's (944s, 951s, 911s) and this car has the smoothest, tightest Porsche shifter I've owned. This tranny is connected to quad-cam 32valve V8 reputed to beat 170mph. I believe it. Drive it and you will too.

Maintenance :This car has been maintained over the top. I have a pile of maintenance records totaling over $10,000. The most important items are compiled below. Items replaced within the last 18,000 miles Dist. caps Dist. rotors All fluids (changed regularly) All filters (changed regularly) Battery Headlight bulbs hood shocks 4-wheel alignment Belts Belt idlers Water pump Tires (now about 70%) master cylinder Clutch Steering Rack

Miscellaneous :This car has both the original warranty/maintenance guide and the owners manual. The spare has never been on the ground and the tool kit is complete. What you have here is one of the most sought after 928's a low mileage, 5-spd S4.
