Update - 02/14/2004 purchased this car from the e-bay seller (a 'professional' reseller of cars bought at auction) who originally posted the car on the Registry. It had been recently repainted with an "OK" paint job. Not a rush job but not a windows-out job. But, very nice looking. However, after I 'won' the auction I took a trip up to NH to see the car before handing over the cashier's check. The car needed a lot of work. There was nothing catastrophically wrong with the car. But, there was a lot of overdue maintenance and minor items required. The car did not run well, but after a on-lift-inspection I decided that my skills were up to the challenge and - and this is the worst part - I really wanted a black on black '89 GT. So, in for a penny, in for a pound. As of the time of this writing I've put only 1500 miles on the car because it has been 'under the knife' almost continuously since I bought it. Enclosed are three pictures. One exterior shot of the car in its new habitat, one of the engine work in-progress, and one of the final engine bay. At this point I still have some engine troubleshooting to do; it is not running at 100% in the upper RPM range. Yet. Ebay auction sellers comments: This RARE Porsche 928GT in is great condition and has the GTS updates. The car was just painted less than one month ago so the exterior is mint. Interior is in good shape shape with no rips or tears and everything works except the A/C. I also installed a kick ass sound system at a cost of over $2000.00. Tis car runs and looks awesome !!! |
