No expense has been spared in the rebuilding and modifying of this car. The engine was removed, maticulously rebuilt down to the crankshaft. Including sending the crank to the 928 geru in California for the special drilling of the oiling passages for better lubrication to the rod bearing journals. A GTS oil pan baffle was installed at this time also. Special headwork was done during the rebuild to maximize flow. Of course the engine is equipped with the special GT cams that contribute to the GT's extra power. All of the perifials were replaced new during the rebuild, water pump, pullys, rollers, belts, motor mounts, radiator, thermostat, plugs, wires, caps/rotors, ect. The value of the engine work alone exceeds $12,000 The GT came with a shorter shifter and smaller front mufflers, the rear muffler has been removed and muffler bypass pipes installed. The original rear muffler goes with the sale. The suspension upgrades include 928 international lowering/stiffening springs, New bilstien shocks, the big Devek front adjustable sway bar, rear sway bar steriod links for stiffening. New tie rods and boots, the steering rack is newer and dry, new rear upper control arms. The wheels are the factory forged units with 9 inch in the rear and 8 inch up front. The tires have less than 500 miles and are BF Goodrich TA's 225 front & 245 rear. The transmission is the special GT version, it has a 40% mechanical limited slip and the GT comes with a shorter ring and pinion giving the car more acceleration. The brakes are stock and steel lines have been added for maximum safety. My purpose for investing so much time and energy in this car was to build the car to compete in PCA club racing in E stock. after completing the build I ran some test laps at Putnam Park during a test day and put down some laps in the 1.19's on very old track tires. That was the car's first and last day on the track. The finished product was so sweet, I didn't have the nerve to subject it to wheel to wheel racing. It has been an occasional street car since. The car is equipped with rear air and the system blows nice and cold. The stereo is KILLER, Alpine, Polk, and Orion. the previous owner spent $2,500 on this system. The dash and instrument pod are in excellent shape as is the rest of the interior and carpet. The body is straight and the paint is in good condition. ALL of the above work has been performed in the last 2,000 miles. Everything is operational on the car. The car is being as is. All told including my original purchase of the car, I have invested over $40,000 in the project. Good luck with your bidding. |
