In September 1988, I purchased this vehicle from the Porsche Exchange in Highland Park, Illinois. Yes, I'm the original owner. This is the same dealer that supplied the 928 to the movie 'Risky Business' that was filmed in Highland Park. When the 928's came over to the United States Porsche was concerned that they would outperform their 911's so they purposely de tuned the engines. While the stock engine is 316 hp I had GT cams professionally installed with a chip. I never had the car dyno'd but the setup is supposed to bring the engine close to 400 hp. The car has much improved low end torque and takes off like a scarred rabbit when it comes up on the cam. The car gets 22 miles per gallon on the highway. This vehicle includes numerous luxury features listed below. Vehicle Condition This car has 48,900 miles. I have never taken it out in the winter and it's always been kept in a heated garage. I am a non-smoker. Nothing that burns has ever been near this car. The car has been an 'around the town' sports car for the last 16 years with an average of 3000 miles per year. My wife and I use it on Saturday nights to go out to dinner. The car is in excellent mechanical condition, the engine runs strong, the transmission shifts smoothly, the air conditioning blows cold, there are no fluid leaks, and the interior is like new. The original air compressor kit is still with the car sitting in the untouched factory spare. I have the service receipts and the owners manual. Over the years I've had the paint refreshed on the front and rear bumpers due to road nicks. I don't like those ugly bra's, they ruin the look of the car. The bumper covers were removed for paint and the black moldings were replaced. I've conditioned the leather twice a year since I've owned the car. There are no cracks what so ever. The car looks and drives pristine in every way. I have faithfully maintained the 928 with all service done religiously. The car has new brakes, new timing belt, new belt tensioner, heater and radiator hoses and new water pump (10/20/03). The A/C was converted to R134 a couple of summers ago and the Bosch fuel injection computer is new. This car has a totally clean Carfax. Believe me, their are very few – imperfections, one minor scratch that was touched up professionally and impossible to see. The seat position memory doesn't work. The wheels are the original and have some scratches around the outer rim. The tires are Dunlops that are not Z rated so if you plan on going 165 mph you will have to replace them.
