Vehicle Description Porsche 928S 1985...USA Auto...Silver...49,700 Miles... VIN: WP0JB0920FS861551 This 928S is a two-owner car, and has lived in Central Florida all its life. Originally sold by Contemporary Cars (17-92 in Maitland, FL) to a Longwood proctologist on July 24, 1985. Car was traded in 1989 when the proctologist decided he wanted a red one. We then purchased his trade-in - this car - from Contemporary (1989) It was driven for several years, and then, as sometimes happens, it pretty much sat in the garage except for weekend drives. (Kids, business requirements, etc. as we shifted daily driving to a new 1992 Astro Van (ugh!). The car has been pretty much sitting in the garage since Fall of 1999. But now we have just filled the garage with stuff from a closed Business office. With kids now in College, we are planning to move to a smaller place, too. Thus we have decided to sell our "treasured toy". Here are some thoughts about the car: Finish The Silver finish is still in great shape; no noticeable dings or scrapes. There are a few hairline scratches, mainly around the gas filler door. You might not notice unless I pointed them out. You really need to see the car to appreciate the finish. Believe me, you will NEVER give even a fleeting thought to repainting it. If anything is truly outstanding about this car, it is the fabulous condition of the body and finish. (You might need to have been involved with a previous restoration - as I was with an older rusty 914 - to really appreciate how much this is worth.) Remember, this car has never seen snow, ice, or salt - having been in Central Florida since it was new. Interior The interior is dark blue. The leather shows little wear, and is still very supple. Electric seat adjustments, windows, sunroof - all appear to work. Carpets - which have the extra factory "throws" on top - show little wear. Again, I suggest you see it. In the back cargo compartment, the rugs have faded - and the foam underlayment pretty much disintegrated and has been removed. Still has the cargo net. The dash has the usual vertical cracks. Very common. So much so that you can buy an aftermarket Contoured Dash Cover from Tweeks and elsewhere to cover them. (About $140.) When the original radio died, it was replaced with a Sony XR7180, which appears to work well. Mechanicals Engine and transmission appear to be fine. No apparent transmission slipping. No apparent engine problems (blue smoke, etc.). No apparent suspension bushing wear problems. No uneven tire wear. No "side to side" rear-tracking side slip problem you will find on almost all 928's of this age. Lights Lights are Euro Bosch H4. You can see where you are going, no problem. Tires Goodyear Eagle VR50. 225/50 VR16 on the standard factory alloys. While they have tread, you should plan on replacement. I believe they are the original tires. Battery New August 8th 2002 - $90 Energizer from Pep Boys. The previous DieHard went completely dead sitting in the garage these last three years, and would not take a charge at all. A/C "Ice Cold A/C" - appears to be working perfectly Other Problems To my knowledge, the only other item that you might wish to work on is the turn-signal switch. While it works, it does not "stick" on one of the positions (left or right - I don't remember) - so, if you want the turn signals on while you turn you need to hold it in position. The Gas Gauge needle sometimes "sticks" for a while between 3/8 or so and Empty The Tach will sometimes stick at Zero when you start - and then start indicating correctly as soon as you start to drive.
