Vehicle Description Up for grabs is a 1985 Porsche 928 coupe. V-8 4-C 32-valve engine with that most sought after option (FIVE SPEED) 28,450 miles. These 928s did not come with a 5-speed unless it was special ordered. This beauty has original paint that will blind people who walk up to it on a sunny day. The paint everywhere is like a clear mirror. You can see your reflection perfectly on every inch of this car. No dents. Not one door ding or nick. All the original rock guard along the lower rocker panels is in awesome shape. The interior is in fabulous condition for a 19-year-old car. It has always been kept in a garage. Driven mostly on Sundays in the summer. That carpeting has never been replaced, carpets are in incredible clean original condition. The inside shows like a 28,450 mile car should. The leather steering wheel and leather 5-speed shifter are like new. (No wear or discoloration) I was told by the guy I bought it from that the back seats have never been sat in. The door panels, headliner, 4 sun visors, rear side panels, complete console and dash are in great shape. (The top/middle of dash has two small cracks that can be fixed for $80 dollars) Every gauge works. Factory blaupunkt am-fm cassette with eight speakers sound good. Horn, delay wipers, tilt wheel, dash lights, interior lights, exterior lights, dual power seats, climate control heat and a/c, factory clock, power sun roof, windows, locks and mirrors all work. Factory alarm and emergency brake work correctly. Air conditioning will freeze you out of the car. The factory rims have never once touched a curbstone, not scrape in the alloy anywhere. No cigarette smokers have ever been aboard this space ship. Glass is great shape. Original spare tire and jack are in place. The under carriage is in excellent shape. I am setting up a link for you to view around 50 – 100 more pictures. She click starts every time and drives nice and tight. She goes down the highway nice and straight with the steering wheel positioned exactly in the middle. All five gears shift smoothly. No oil leaks or oil burning. Engine runs quiet with no lifter noise. As far as I am concerned the 928 is one of the most awesome sport cars ever built. One other thing is there is no title with this car. I have this car in New Hampshire at my second home. The state of New Hampshire will NOT issue a title on any vehicle over ten years old. I will give you a N.H state form stating this fact along with a non-titled bill of sale. Any and all states will accept these forms as proof of ownership. You will be issued a title from your state after you register the car. Only if you do not have the “NO TITLE FOR OLD CARS LAW” in your state. Other states will go along with other states title laws. I have to sell the car as TMU because there is no title. Recent service. Four brand new tires. New battery. New front brake pads, the rears are original and has plenty of meat left. The rotors are thick and meaty. Complete new exhaust system installed by a Porsche Dealer two years ago. All new fan belts. Tune up with plug wires. Flaws 1) Front bumper has stone chips and a couple of spots where the clear coat looks worn. I don’t know if buffing it will work. I would hate to paint it because of the original paint factor. I can have it stripped and painted for $350. It has never been bumped, no cracking anywhere. The rear bumper looks like it did when it rolled of the show room floor. 2) The rear spoiler has been changed from a 1985 to a 1987. The only reason it was changed was to get rid of that ugly 1985 rear spoiler. The 87 looks much better. Don’t like it?? Want to change it back?? Very easily done. 3) This is a common one. The eight short rubber intake hoses on the top of the engine have some age cracks in the rubber. They have been that way for years. 4) The front leather seats are not new and have that leather break in look. No cracks, just that look a seat gets after it is one to two years old. They need to be cleaned with leather cleaner, they are slightly dirty. You are hearing all this from a perfectionist. 5) The first owner did a insurance scam with this car. He reported it stolen years ago and collected around $40,000 dollars for the "Missing" car. Shortly after he was paid it showed up parked on the side of the road with out a scratch. So the history is dirty but the car is a perfect piece of untouched art. It has a past insurance loss and the miles were listed as not known because the car could not be inspected at the time it was missing. There is no title so there is no dirty paperwork following it around. I will be expecting an excellent feedback comment from the new owner of my car. It is very nice and described correctly. I am adding a link with lots of other pictures. Some people might not seem to understand the Title situation. I cannot get a Title for this car, period. Impossible. My State DOES NOT issue them for any vehicles this old. This car is Title exempt and mileage exempt and will be sold TMU. I also reserve the right to end this auction early if I sell it out side of the auction. I had no idea how many people love this color combination. NO RESERVE. LAST BIDDER OWNES IT.
