It was claimed to be the fastest, at 158 mph, street-legal car sold in the USA in 1984. The base price of this car in 1984 was $ 44,000. I purchased the Porsche at a sale (the owner left the country and abandoned the car). I ordered a master key from Porsche, so I have a key that is just like the original new key that came with the car. One key works the door locks, ignition, glove boxes, rear hatchback, and locking gas cap. This car would make an excellent parts car; however I believe this would be an excellent car to restore. In my opinion, the condition of the body is very good, and I would think it would pay to restore this car; however, you the buyer must decide. I HAVE MANY MORE PICTURES, BUT I COULD NOT DETERMINE HOW TO ADD MORE THAN 6 TO THE LISTING. I WILL TRY TO APPEND THEM TO THE LISTING, WHEN IT GOES ACTIVE. OTHERWISE, JUST EMAIL ME AND I WILL SEND THEM TO YOU. DRIVE TRAIN I put a battery in the car and the engine starts and runs for about 10 seconds; then stops...... it appears to be a fuel problem. I do not know anything more about the running gear on this vehicle. The engine is very clean and does not appear to have been taken apart. One could save a lot of cash by putting in some elbow grease, get the car in running shape, and own a classic German sports car. The Drive train Features are: 310 bhp V-8, twin overhead camshaft engine Bosch LH-Jetronic fuel injection 4.7 Liters displacement engine 5-speed manual, all-synchromesh transmission ABS anti-lock brakes Handling package Rear Wheel Drive EXTERIOR The exterior body and interior are in relatively good shape for a 19-year-old car. The paint is in very good condition and the inner door panels shine like the day the car was new. The factory alloy wheels have Porsche locking wheel nuts (on 2 wheels) with a Porsche key to prevent theft of the wheels. There is no evidence of repairs indicating the automobile was ever in an accident. The automobile appears to have been well taken care of; the only body defects that I can see are: Slight depression in the driver side rear panel below the taillights (see picture) Slight depression/scrape along the passenger side door area (see picture) The front bottom of the spoiler is broken (see picture) The Exterior Features are: Black Exterior Color Front Spoiler Power Mirrors - electrically heated & actuated Alloy 7J x 16 wheels INTERIOR The interior is black leather seems to be in very good condition except for some scuffing on the drivers seat. Also the drivers seat has a broken latch, so the seat does not say in the up-right position. The drivers seat electrical controls do not work (this may be a problem with a fuse, but I could not find the fuse panel). The passenger side electrical controlled window does not work (again, this may be a problem with a fuse, but I could not find the fuse panel). The previous owner removed the Monterey AM/FM stereo radio, but left all the wiring harness intact none of the wiring is pulled or cut....... this was probably removed to prevent theft. The car has an electrically operated sunroof, which is operational. It was also constructed with a factory installed alarm system, which uses a special Porsche ignition key. The alarm does work, as it went off several times when we had the ignition on and were trying to determine what accessories were operational on the car. The interior carpets appear to be almost new. I found a new black dash cover (made of black carpet-type material) with a Porsche emblem on it, in the car. The car bra has some damage, but the part of the bra that goes over the bonnet (hood) is new. The covers for the mirror are new.
