Vehicle Description “The new 928S is the proud successor to the 928. Consider its liquid cooled, fuel injected, aluminum alloy V8 engine. Displacement has been increased to 4.7L. And output has been raised to 238 HP. On the track, with manual transmission, the 928S accelerates from 0-50MPH in 5.2 seconds. It reaches the ¼ mile mark from a standing start in 15.2 seconds at a speed of 90 MPH. And it has a maximum speed of 146 MPH. The 928S transaxle design places the engine in front and transmission in back. It produces a nearly perfect 50/50 front to read weight distribution for improved cornering and balanced braking. And it creates a high polar moment of inertia that reduces pitching, reduces cross-winds, and increases directional control. The 928S’ unique Weissach rear axle optimizes rear wheel alignment during deceleration for braking and while cornering. A kinematic effect changes toe out to toe in in no more than 0.2 seconds to control oversteer. The 928S’ aerodynamic design includes integral front and rear spoilers to reduce lift and improve road holding.” - 1983 Porsche Advertising Material The 1983 928S for sale on this page is bright red with black and white checkered psychedelic interior. With less than 17,000 the car is practically brand new. For the first half of its life, the car was mainly used at track events. It runs like a dream - wonderful car to drive. All parts are original. Vehicle Condition With such few miles, the car's engine is virtually new. The car was picked up by my uncle from the Porsche plant in Germany. After being driven on the Autobahn, it was shipped back to Pennsylvania. It was only driven during the summer to prevent exposure to caustic conditions (hence the low mileage). And almost all driving was on race tracks. It was well maintained by a loving car enthusiast, so even with such few miles the car was always driven to keep it in good shape. A couple years ago, my uncle gave the car to me out in California. I have maintained its excellent condition and it has received regular maintenance. I have logs from both myself and my uncle. I'm away at college now, and the car needs a new loving home. On cars with very few miles, I know it can be a concern that the car was never driven for long periods of time. But I’d like to reiterate that the car was always well maintained and driven regularly. The car is in excellent shape, except the back window washer doesn't function and the radio is the original 1983 sound system and would need replacing to work effectively. It's obviously ready for the street out in California, and the catalytic converter was re-installed so it passes the Smog Check. Car is sold as is/where is. No warranties expressed or implied.
