| History/Comments | This is a kick-back classic car: a 1982 Porsche 928 with a 4.5 Litre V8 and sunroof. The 1982 model probably was introduced in 1981, making this a quarter-century car. All original interior and engine. This automobile is in excellent condition; you could drive across America with it and not worry about its mechanics--and you sure would have some fun! When I first got the car I was very impressed with the Porsche craftsmanship- almost the entire inside is leather wrapped - the dashboard, headliner, door panels, etc. The car also has a lot of power and a great exhaust note. The owners manual claims a top speed of 140 MPH, I have not taken it anywhere near that, but I dont doubt that it could. And as I am sure you know, this model has excellent body lines, it is a tastefully designed car that gets a lot of attention. Im not an expert on Porsche history but I believe the 928 was the first Porsche made with a front engine V8, giving it the famed 50/50 weight distribution and therefore excellent handling. This car takes corners very smoothly and can come to a stop amazingly fast. I personally know the man who owned this car before me; we live in the same area. He kept this car in heated storage every winter and only took it out during good weather in the summer. Whenever I saw him with it, he was always careful and treated it well. He hated to give up his Porsche, but had to let it go to help finance his business. You can tell that this car was babied because of its excellent condition. The paint is quite good and I always keep it waxed. Its a great car both mechanically and visually. I am only selling it as I am moving soon and need the money and just plain have too many cars. As I said earlier, the car is in very good condition. However, it could use just a little work. Specifically, the heater does not function right, nor does the cruise control. Other than that, the car is great. It's a good, sound car that is very sharp and also very very driveable. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. I also still have the original owner's manual and dealer directory for this vehicle. The car is located in Northern Michigan and I would have no problem delivering the car to somewhere relatively close. Three or four hundred miles is about all I would go. If the winning bidder is somewhere around that proximity we can work that out. But other than that, you would have to arrange for pick-up yourself. --- Thanks much for bidding and good luck!!!
