Unfortunately I must sell it because I bought a house and I could really use the money. I have owned this car since 2000 and I have put so much money and time into it that I have lost count. I treat this car like a baby, always garaged and maintained by a porsche mechanic. I also own a autoparts store (NAPA AUTOPARTS) and anything this car needs I would get right away. Regular oil changes were done every 3 thousand miles with Mobil-1 full synthetic oil. THE MOTOR- The engine runs great with lots of power and no oil leaks or engine knockings. It has a new distributor, a vaccum advance, a new mass air flow sensor, new injector seals, new slave cylinder, new engine shock, new fan clutch, new smog pump. I have all the receipts to proove it. THE TRANSMISSION- One of the most common problems of the 928 are the sincros in the transmission, they go bad and the gears grind specialy 1st and reverse. Well a rebuilt transmission from VERTEXAUTO, european auto parts was put in about 3000 miles ago. The transmission cost me 1500.00 dollars. THE BODY- The original color was burgundy but I did not like it, so recently (3 months ago) I had the car painted sunset orange the same color on the new Nissan 350Z. I get nothing but compliments on the paint. The body has no rust, no dents and no scratches. I also removed the "S" spoiler and put a "S4" wing. THE INTERIOR- The interior is the only thing that still needs some work done. The front seats are new and the rear seats have been re-leathered. I undercoated the complete interior floor and I put thermal heat resistant insulator all it needs is to be carpeted. The dash has some cracks but I have a new dash to put in it. It also needs a new blower motor. The gauges are white indoglo and when the light are on you could change between blue or green dash lights. It has a/c but it does not work. The a/c compressor was bad and I removed it and never found one to replaced it. The heat used to work but the blower motor went bad. I been leaving the blower motor for when I replace the dash I would replace the blower motor but have not had the time. It has a short throw shifter and a shift gate from 928 Motorsports. THE EXHAUST- The exhaust cost me 1200.00 plus 800.00 for installation. It has headers (not manifolds) from the engine back with a 2 ½ in pipes and dual mufflers in the back. It sounds beautiful and it gives a lot of extra power to the car. THE WHEELS & TIRES- The wheels are Polished Porsche Twist 17x7 in the front and 17x9 in the rear with an et of 55mm. The tires are almost new (around 2000 miles on them) and they are the best tires for this car as per Porsche club of America. They recomended Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position. I noticed a big difference in handling after a put those tires in. They really grab the road in wet or dry surfices. Each tire cost me around 275.00 dollars. In 2002 this car received a 5500.00 dollar engine re-gasket, tune-up and timing service. If you want details of what was replaced I can provide the receipt. There were too many parts replaced to name them all here. Overall this car is in very good condition and mechanicaly in excellent condition. All the car needs is the interior finished and it will be all done. I hate to have to sell it but I needs to be done. I hope it gets a good home and that the new owner finishes it. My current classic car insurance has appraised the car at 15,000.00 dollars. I am looking to get less than that.
