Description
Very original, correct and straight car. Rare cashmere beige color was a special order color in 1978. 40,685 original miles. Interior is brown with checkered cloth inserts (all original). This car features polished original equipment Robert Wood alloy wheels and H4 European style headlamps. This car is perfect for the enthusiast who is looking for an unmodified early model 928. The recent edition of Excellence magazine indicates that early model 928's are appreciating in value. I also have the Porsche Certificate of Authenticity on this car which details the factory specs on this car as well as optional equipment that came on the car from the factory. I bought this car earlier this year with the hopes of totally restoring it. I am a reluctant seller but a lack of time forces me to sell it. It is currently collecting dust in my garage. Vehicle Condition The car is in above average condition. The body is straight with no significant dents or scratches. The hood of the car is showing its age with small "spider" cracking of the paint but the paint shines nicely. The interior is in great shape. The front seats have some separation of material but could be fairly easily fixed. The back seats, headliner, carpets, etc are in excellent condition. All glass, trim and lights are in excellent shape. The previous owner indicated that the clutch, timing belt and a/c compressor had been replaced but I do not have documentation of this. It runs strong with no leaks or smoking. While cold, there is a tendency to grind between second and third gear - a problem I have been told that synthetic clutch fluid would help with. It also needs the oil pressure switch which I will include with the car. It does not seem to be plagued with a lot of the electrical problems these cars were known for. The windows, fans, etc work well. The tires are in good condition. While not perfect, this car offers a lot of potential for someone who can give it the attention it deserves. This is a very rare, low mileage car. Check out the pics and email with any questions you may have. The car is being sold in its present as is condition. I do have the car advertised locally and may have to end the auction early if it sells |
