My '78 has been repainted
dunkelblau. I also refurbished the interior in a color lighter then the
original cork. I'll upload some pictures later 03/16/2003 Update: Additional Comments: My 928 is now dunkelblau (dark blue) with a light tan interior. I believe it was origially a yellowish orange, but I don’t have the paint code. This is the color of the rear floor and the spare tire housing. The interior was originally cork, which I thought was too dark and too much of an orangish color to go with the dunkelblau. The car has been painted black a couple of times from what I could tell. I had the paint job done in 2002 and the outcome was anything but great. Best thing is that the car was taken down to metal, so at least I have a good place to start agin! I did the interior myself (sans seat recovering), and I must say, I did a darn good job. An interesting thing about the interior is that the seats and door panels had grayish silver cordorouy inserts, which I did my best to preserve. The car started in Las Cruces as a Dentists car!!!! I bought it and took it to Toronto and then later ot NY. Well, now it is back in Las Cruces with my brother (not a dentist) awaiting my return to the US. My career has taken me to England (again). When I get back stateside, I can’t wait to pull the engine and rebuild it with a 86 Euro S top end that I have sitting a garage. Of course, I will find a reputable paint shop to try try again. Other than that, a Borla catback is the only notable deviation from stock anything. |
